What are Henna Brows?

We’ve taken you through some of our brows in recent blogs so today we thought we would take you through our relatively new Henna Brows. The next step up from a tint, Henna brows are a nice alternative for those people that usually go for a brow tint, and want something longer lasting and fuller.

So what is Henna?

Henna is a natural dye that is derived from a flowering plant that grows in tropical and sub-tropical parts of Africa and Asia. Henna is a red/brown dye that has been used on skin for centuries in various cultures, to create the most beautiful decorations, and most recently, ‘Henna Tatoos’ have become more popular as an alternative to ‘Permanent Tatoos’, as Henna only lasts around 4 weeks, so isn’t permanent.

Does that mean I can only have red/brown eyebrows?

Absolutely not! The So Henna range we use has been specifically produced in ‘coffee’ shades to give a much cooler tone, from Vanilla Late to Caffe Mocha, there are different shades to suit all brows and skin tones. Your beautician will advise accordingly on which Henna Brow shades are best for you.

Do I need to prepare before hand?

All you need to do is turn up with fresh makeup free brows, and we will do the rest!

How long does it take?

Your appointment is approximately 20-30 mins long. Your beautician will discuss with you beforehand and advise on your desired shape and effect of your Henna Brows.

How long do they last?

As with all treatments, effects vary from person to person depending on your skin type, but generally, Henna Brows can last between 4-6 weeks – we would advise booking in 4 weeks time to re-apply if required.

How is this different from a Brow Tint?

Brow tints generally tint only the individual hairs. Henna Brows cover and hold onto the skin, filling in gaps to give a thicker, and fuller look.

Is there any aftercare involved?

Your beautician will trim and shape your brows as part of the process, and will apply specifically formulated brow oil to promote growth and for healthier brows. The oil is available to buy separately so that you can continue to look after your new beautiful brows!

A skin test is required 48 hours beforehand so please bear this in mind before booking. After you have booked you will receive an email to say your booking has been confirmed. Please then contact us to arrange to pop by for your skin test at least 48 hours before.
